An educational institution that could offer the locals high-quality education was greatly needed, according to a group of like-minded persons from Velur and the surrounding areas. Kongu Matric. Hr. Sec. School Trust was established in 1990 as a result of their ideas, giving rise to Kongu School.

Across a tranquil 15 acres of land, the school is located on the Karur - NH-44, Karur -Salem Byepass, Paramathi Velur.

Every class is separated into four houses, Amaravathi, Bhavani, Cauvery, and Vaigai, to foster a spirit of competition among the pupils.
